A Fighter 2/Bladesinger 11 has two feats for intelligence and Dex, TWF style with d6s, and caster level 11. An EK 7/Bladesinger 6 has three feats for intelligence or Dex, dueling or defense fighting style, d8s, and caster level 8. I’d take the TWF Battle Smith or Bladesinger over the EK MC any day of the week.

The variant Half-Elf options in SCAG can also let you swap the 2 skills for different things, probably the most useful for an EK is a free cantrip from the wizard spell list. Since you only get 2 cantrips before level 10, being able to grab Minor Illusion for instance, in addition to Booming Blade and Green-Flame Blade is nice. Unless EK gets it now. Basically you are wanting a bladesinger type class.

The target has disadvantage on the save The Eldritch Knight, when built correctly, is actually capable of being a very strong defensive fighter that does solid damage with a small suite of support or utility spells.

In combat, a bladesinger utilizes a series of intricate, elegant maneuvers that fend off injury and allow the 5e bladesinger to channel magic to devastating attacks and a cunning defense. Many who have observed a bladesinger at work remember the screen as one of the more beautiful experiences in their lifetime, a glorious dance accompanied by a singing blade.

It also spreads ASI crazy thin while limiting the number you would get. You need 13 in Dex, Wis, Int, and Cha to pull that. I'd recommend bladesinger personally.

You keep putting up dual wielding builds. – Bladesinger description. This sounds like War Magic. Weaving magic into its blade work, combining martial and arcane. It would allow them to use both magic and martial in melee combat, like an EK. Serious question, is there any design reason why they would choose Extra Attack over War Magic? The archetypal Eldritch Knight combines the martial mastery common to all fighters with a careful study of magic.

The Bladesinger are a group of elegant elf wizards, embracing close fights and grouped by combat style. There’s a myriad of animal-based names for styles, thanks to the Bladesinger being one of the few Wizards capable of earning a weapon proficiency.

Magic Initiate Cleric can get you Bless or Shield of Faith along with Light (since Vumans don’t get darkvision) and Guidance. Dex and Int: Variant human has amazing synergy with the bladesinger class. (Personally I'd take resilient: con over warcaster because dual-wielding is kinda a mess RAW with a bladesinger, but it's not a bad choice). With point buy you can start out with a 16 in both Int and Dex. Bladesingers really need to invest in ASIs whenever possible.
